Martin Resources manufactures and markets ammonium sulfate (AMS) products at our Plainview, Texas facility. Martin Resources is also one of the few United States manufacturers that produce “Made On Purpose” Ammonium Sulfate using Anhydrous Ammonia and Sulfuric Acid (Virgin) as opposed to AMS that is a by-product from Caprolactam (Fiber) production. The majority of AMS produced and imported into the United States is from Caprolactam production. Martin’s Agricultural AMS grades (Granular, Coarse, and Standard) are marketed throughout the major crop-producing states. Martin Resources also markets spray grade ammonium sulfate in 51 pound bags under the trade name ZippSol. ZippSol is mixed in a solution with herbicides (glyphosate, etc.) for field application. 40% Ammonium Sulfate Solution is produced along with the dry AMS at the Plainview, facility and can be used in spray solutions for agriculture and some industrial applications.

Product Name Description Datasheets
Ammonium Sulfate Agricultural – Coarse

Ammonium Sulfate (Coarse) is a white, crystalline powder with anti-caking agent. Ammonium Sulfate is used in wide range of industrial and agricultural applications. In agriculture, ammonium sulfate is used in blends with other nutrients (Nitrogen, Phosphate, or Potash) or as a direct application to supply a source of sulfur “Fourth Major Nutrient” in the sulfate form.

Ammonium Sulfate promotes the following:

  • Increases drought tolerance through enhancing root development.
  • Helps maintain a dark green color by promoting chlorophyll production.
  • Promotes nodule formations on legumes
  • Aids in the conversion of nitrates into proteins.
  • Stimulates seed production and early maturity
  • Is an integral part of certain amino acids
  • Assists in the breakdown of organic matter
  • Improves soil structure and increases water infiltration.

Zippsol Spray Grade AMS (51 pound Bag)

ZippSol is the ONLY spray grade ammonium sulfate made as a PRIMARY product and is NOT A BY-PRODUCT of another manufacturing process. Primary ammonium sulfate is made through the reaction of anhydrous ammonia and concentrated sulfuric acid to manufacture the purest, cleanest, most completely soluble product in the market. ZippSol is formulated and packaged to ensure it is the highest quality and freedom from contaminants. ZippSol is double screened to assure uniform particle size and dissolves readily in the spray solution for maximum effectiveness.
